The LHS Student Government is excited to announce our very first LHS Spring Dance. It will take place on Friday March 20th from 6-8pm. Tickets are on sale for $5 and all students are invited to purchase tickets via OSP or through the Bookkeeper. Dress will be semi-casual, so think similar to HOCO. We hope to see you there!

Our academic scholars are continuing to delve into Gullah Geechee culture. Today they participated in a creative arts activity led by district art liaison Liz Bell.

Today our academic scholars learned about the Gullah-Geechee culture. Librarian Sherri Alston read Okra Stew, a beautifully written and illustrated book. Their teachers prepared and served various okra-inspired dishes - pickled okra, fried okra, tomatoes and okra, and okra, bacon, and rice. The scholars compared and contrasted the taste and textures of each okra dish and voted on their favorite...okra, bacon, and rice.
