
On Friday January 31, Mr. Sowell's Carpentry 4 students went on an industry visit to Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. Students had the opportunity to see the wind, rain, hail, and fire testing area. Several lucky students were able to shoot the hail cannon!










The Ambush Club members received an invaluable resume writing and career readiness skills presentation on January 16 from the LCSD Career Center Work Based Learning Coordinator (Mrs. Paula Stegall Lail) and LCSD Career Center College & Career Navigator (Dr. Ronald Cunningham). Topics of discussion included; resume brainstorming, professional portfolio, upcoming career fair, document preservation, and soft skills. Thank you to the presenters for investing their time into these young men’s future.

We hosted our annual 8th and 9th Grade Parent night on Tuesday January 28! The turn out for the event was amazing! We loved seeing all the future Career Center students and their families! There were also local businesses on hand to showcase careers in some of the pathways we offer. There were even a couple of local legends that stopped by as well! Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a great event!











The American Revolution Experience Exhibit and the Lancaster County Museum has rescheduled January 21st event. Due to travel and weather considerations, Rick Wise's discussion on the Francis Marion Papers has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 6:30 PM. The exhibit will be on display at the Lancaster County Historic Robert Mills Courthouse, located at 102 Main Street, Lancaster, SC.

Friday, January 24, 2025 will be on a regular school schedule. ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be open. Please use caution.


Thursday, January 23, 2025 will be an eLearning day. ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be closed. After evaluating road conditions the southern and eastern sides of Lancaster County still contain a lot of ice and slush. Due to the freezing temperatures tonight roads will freeze and conditions will worsen. We will continue to reevaluate the roadways tomorrow and provide further updates. As a safety precaution, ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be closed on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Wednesday, January 22, 2025 will be an eLearning day. ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be closed. Lancaster County School District has been in contact with Emergency Management. Due to the hazardous conditions from expected snow, freezing rain, and sleet with a possible accumulation over an inch we have determined closure is essential. As a safety precaution, ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be closed onWednesday, January 22, 2025.

Today, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, ALL Lancaster County School District activities will end at 6:00 p.m.
The Lancaster County School District Board of Trustees Regular Meeting will still be at 7:00 pm tonight, Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the LCSD District Office located at 300 S. Catawba Street, Lancaster.
Wednesday, January 22, 2025, ALL LCSD schools and offices will be on a two-hour delay. We are continuing to monitor the weather situation and we will provide updated alerts if there are any changes.


Parent night is a week away! We hope to see many of you there!
